MAS National donate $4,000 |

08/2011: MAS National will be working closely with the Tirkandi Inaburra Cultural & Development Centre Inc. (TICDC) to further develop this community asset with a $4,000 donation through the INGT Group Funding Program.
TICDC currently borrow reading materials from Griffith City Library to provide resources for their participants who reside at the centre for the school term. The funding will secure the purchase of resources for the learning centre in the form of books, magazines, and new computer programs (stop-motion and clay motion).
TICDC is an early intervention centre and a cultural development centre for Aboriginal males aged between 12 – 15 old. Their intake is 14 participants every school term (56 annually). Every participant (331 in total) that has entered TICDC have exited with higher educational levels as a direct result of how the centre operates.
TICDC is located in a remote location between Darlington Point and Coleambally, 40km’s west of Griffith, NSW. MAS National understands the challenges facing outer urban and rural communities and hopes that this funding will help make a difference and enhance the young participant's prospect of future employment throughout the region. |
