06/2011: As part of an ongoing commitment to community development, Process Plus recently donated a total of $15,000 to two local community organisations in the inner north of Melbourne through the INGT Group funding program.
The selected community organisations funded were the Fawkner Tennis Club ($5,000) and The Social Studio ($10,000).
The project at Fawkner Tennis Club assists intellectually disadvantaged and migrant groups by hosting a 'come and try day' in which the club provides opportunities for people with intellectual disadvantage to compete in a welcoming, inclusive, and non competitive environment. In order to provide additional opportunities to local disadvantaged communities including newly arrived refugees and low income earners, the club will also promote "Social Sundays". This initiative will provide entry level, low cost access for people new to tennis and give them a chance to try the sport.
The Social Studio is a not for profit organisation that provides training and employment to people with refugee backgrounds who are interested in a career in fashion, retail or hospitality industries. The funded program will provide 4 lots of 2 monthly technical intensives where senior students will receive intensive training from fashion industry professionals to bring their skills up to and above industry standards. Having industry professionals resident at The Social Studio offers the added benefit of opening doors in the fashion industry to 8 students. Visit www.thesocialstudio.org to learn more about this fantastic local organisation.
Process Plus is proud to have the opportunity to contribute to such great local projects and looks forward to seeing the great results!
