04/2011: The INGT group business staff in the Preston offices held a two week collection drive and staff lunch raising over $220 for those affected by the Queensland natural disasters.

The floods and cyclone have affected us all. Whether we have family up there, have friends who have been affected, or have witnessed the devastation on the 6 o’clock news, the natural disasters has had a profound impact on many lives. This is the reason why the staff at Preston decided to get involved and do their bit.

As a way to promote staff collaboration while at the same time contributing to a good cause, the staff at Preston held a two week long office donation drive culminating in a Friday staff lunch. The total amount raised was over $220. In addition, staff donated their own time to put on the lunch – providing a series of homemade entrées and mains.

Here was the menu:

• Greek salad à la Voula
• Ripe tomato and fresh basil bruschetta on Murray River salted crostini
• Slow cooked Bolognese pasta and fresh parmesan cheese

All those who participated and donated throughout the fundraiser enjoyed the process and it has even inspired talk of a monthly Friday Feast! It is hoped that in some small way our donation will help get someone’s life back on track or contribute to the gradual rebuilding of a community.
