APlus Apprentice + Trainee Services

APlus Apprentice + Trainee Services is a leading Group Training Company (GTO) in Victoria, founded in Melbourne’s inner north in 1983, and now operating throughout the wider metropolitan area and regional Victoria. As a not-for-profit GTO APlus Apprentice + Trainee Services (APlus) creates employment opportunities for apprentices and trainees by working with employers across more than 50 vocations. APlus currently employs over 600 apprentices and trainees in occupations as diverse as automotive, horticulture, engineering, nursing, business and education.

APlus is also a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing accredited training in a range of courses. APlus works closely with employers, community groups, schools, local government, and charities to create vocational employment and training awareness and opportunities for aspiring apprentices and trainees, and to support them and their employers throughout the duration of their training contract and employment. This support for apprentices and trainees takes the form of mentoring, ensuring safety in their workplaces, processing their wages and other entitlements, support with formal training at TAFE/RTO and many other services. For employers this support is provided through recruitment services, payroll and legislative compliance services, co-ordination of training and support with ongoing learning, development and performance in the workplace.

APlus provides opportunities for jobseekers from a diverse range of backgrounds – school leavers, mature-age workers looking to up-skill or re-skill, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and those experiencing other barriers to employment and training such as disability, family breakdown or long-term unemployment. APlus has a strong commitment to social inclusion, also working closely with community organisations such as Mission Australia and STReat to provide opportunities for jobseekers with multiple and significant barriers to successful and ongoing employment.
